Motherhood in the 21st century is a beautiful thing and such a blessing. There is so much love and joy in caring for your family and watching your children grow. However, at times it can also feel overwhelming and even constricting to our own desires as a woman. How do I provide my children with a quality education rather than indoctrination? How do I provide them healthy meals, instead of fast food or unhealthy foods? How do I take care of my own personal beautification? Of course, I still love to shop, not just for my family, but for myself as well!
I have found that my faith in God has alleviated many of the stresses that I may have been burdened by without it. Daily prayers and devotionals are essential parts of my life and keep me focused on what should be the priorities of my life. The Scriptures not only provide us spiritual strength, they also teach us extremely valuable and practical instructions on how to live. After all, God Himself rested on the seventh day, and He also instructs us to rest. That is just one clear example of the wisdom of time management and the need to find time to rest and decompress.
My experience as a professional teacher before and after becoming a mother myself, has equipped me with unique insights into how to effectively teach my own children. My loving husband also helps me balance out my daily obligations, which provides me the opportunities to tend to my own personal needs.
